I think there is a lot of value to gain from ‘those in the trenches’ – and they are not always listened to or acknowledged. Does your company have an easy method for making suggestions – is it encouraged? Do you have a success story related to such a suggestion?
Joseph Perla has posted an interesting blog entry that compares Facebook to a Ponzi scheme. While he confines himself to the realm of the advertising model, I have to agree with him. Yes I have a Facebook account [no, I will most likely not friend you] and I almost always get my feeds from either Tweetdeck or Flipbook. I can’t remember the last ad I saw, nor have I ever clicked an ad [most of the time they are quality of matchbook ads from my youth].
I don’t see much value in the advertising, but then again, I am an old man who never uses one any of the ‘apps’ that I have seen either.
Facebook will go the way of MySpace – and I can only hope that it goes sooner rather than later.
